Thomastik-Infeld Endorses Violinist Filip Pogády
The Slovakian-born violinist will now play exclusively on Thomastik-Infeld strings
Violinist Filip Pogády has now joined many renowned musicians currently endorsed by the music strings company, Thomastik-Infeld.
Making his solo debut at age 11 at the Wiener Konzerthaus after winning first prize at the Tsusuki Violin Competition, Pogády has since appeared on international stages including Lincoln Center and the Seoul Arts Center.
He was also a multi-first-prize winner at Austria’s "Prima La Musica,” and received special prizes by the Austrian String Society and the Raiffeisen Bank.
Now based in New York City, Pogády studied at the Bruckner Conservatory Pre-college in Linz before going on to attend the Manhattan School of Music, where he studied with Pinchas Zukerman.
Based in Vienna, Thomastik Infeld has been producing strings since 1919. Its large range of strings is based on over 100 years of experience, plus research in material science and mechanical engineering.
“I’m proud to announce that I am now endorsed by Thomastik Infeld and am exclusively playing on their strings,” Pogády posted on Instagram. “The set of my choice is the ‘Dominant Pro’ medium tension. It complements my violin just perfectly and allows me to exploit its full potential.
“I had the pleasure of meeting their amazing team at the headquarters in Vienna a few days ago,” he added. “I am very much looking forward to collaborating with them in the future! Congrats on making so many musicians so happy!”
