Toronto Symphony Orchestra — Assistant and Associate Principal Second Violin

Canada’s Toronto Symphony Orchestra (TSO) was founded in 1922 and has been housed in the Roy Thomson Hall since 1982. TSO’s music director is Gustavo Gimeno, who began his role as of the 2020/21 season.
For the Assistant and Associate Principal Second Violin position with the TSO, the successful candidate will begin their tenure in September 2023 for the 2023/24 season.
The weekly scale fee for the 43-week concert season will be $2,206.52. There will also be five weeks worth of paid non-service, one additional vacation week, and two string relief weeks. Other benefits include long-term disability insurance, sick leave, and a 10% contribution to the CFM-Musicians Pension Fund of Canada.
International auditions are scheduled for March 20 and 21, 2023. Additionally, offers may be available for tutti positions with the orchestra.

Alongside subscription concerts, the TSO performs many school concerts and runs the tuition-free Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra (TSYO), which offers top orchestral training for emerging musicians aged 22 and under. The TSO’s other programs include an annual open call for Canadian orchestral scores and positions for Resident Conductor and Affiliate Composer.
