Trump Appoints Fox Anchors to Kennedy Center Board

Fox News host Laura Ingraham and Fox Business anchor Maria Bartiromo complete Trump's selections for the board

President Trump, who has been making a host of changes to staffing and programming at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts since he installed himself as the center's Chair, has appointed two new members to the Center's board.

They are Fox News host Laura Ingraham and Fox Business anchor Maria Bartiromo, according to Reuters.

MSNBC reported that the Center's board members now include second lady Usha Vance; White House chief of staff Susie Wiles and her mother, Cheri Summerall; White House deputy chief of staff Dan Scavino; country singer Lee Greenwood; first lady Melania Trump’s former White House adviser Pamela Gross; and some spouses of donors, as well as business allies.

The Center has recently cancelled a number of planned performances, including the Gay Men's Chorus of Washington and the children's musical Finn.

In the wake of changes at the Center, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Jeffrey Seller opted to withdraw performances of their musical Hamilton, which were planned for 2025.

Various prominent figures in the music industry have also commented publicly on policy changes at the Kennedy Center, including conductors Marin Alsop and Leonard Slatkin.

"This completes our selection," Trump wrote of the appointments on the Truth Social platform. "We look forward to restoring the Center to Greatness, and ushering in America’s Golden Age. Together, we will Make the Arts Great Again!"
