UK's Continuo Foundation Opens Fifth Round of Grant Applications
Grants between £2,000 and £8,000 will fund projects for early music ensembles across the UK
The UK's Continuo Foundation, which offers grant money to early-music ensembles, has opened applications for its fifth round of funding. The foundation is offering £100,000 worth of grants, which will fund projects taking place between April and September 2023.
The grants are open to UK-based period ensembles who perform either on period instruments or faithful replicas thereof. Each group should be active year-round, have consistent membership of at least three players, and have a defined identity as an ensemble.
Applicants should request a sum of between £2,000 and £8,000 for their proposed project. For ensembles formed since June 2019, the foundation would prefer to fund a live concert or tour, as opposed to a recording or digital media project.
The foundation will aim to provide grants to around twenty ensembles, with approximately four of those groups counting as "recently formed" — i.e. more recently than June 2019.
Applications should be received no later than February 6, 2023. You can read more and apply here.
