VC Artist Bella Hristova Joins Epstein Fox Performances
The Bulgarian-American violinist has joined the classical division of the artist booking agency
VC Artist Bella Hristova is now on the roster of Epstein Fox Performances (EFP) and will be represented by Brooke Scholl in the classical division. She joins other EFP artists such as Curtis Stewart and the PUBLIQuartet.
“Epstein Fox has shown great leadership and impact in the field across many genres, and being on the ground level of expanding their classical division is thrilling for me,” Hristova told The Violin Channel. “Already I’ve had such terrific interactions with Brooke and Michael, and they’re helping me develop a number of ideas for projects and repertoire that I’ve been thinking about.”
A recipient of the Avery Fisher Career Grant, Hristova is a first prize winner of the Michael Hill International Violin Competition and of the Young Concert Artists International Auditions.
She has performed with the Buffalo Philharmonic, Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, the New York String Orchestra, plus orchestras in Asia, Europe, Latin America, and New Zealand, among many others.
Highlights of this season include performances of the Wynton Marsalis Violin Concerto with the Charleston Symphony and Eugene Philharmonic, and appearances with the Orlando Philharmonic, Mozart Sinfonia Concertante, and the New York Youth Symphony at Carnegie Hall.
Frequently performing with The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, Hristova has also held residencies at top conservatory and summer music festival programs as a recitalist.
As a recording artist, she has released albums reflecting a wide range of genres, including works by John Corigliano, Kevin Puts, Astor Piazzolla, Nathan Milstein, Charles de Beriot, and J.S. Bach.
Her complete Beethoven Sonatas for Piano and Violin with pianist Michael Houstoun was awarded the “Best Classical Album of 2019” by the New Zealand Listener. In 2023, the duo released the complete Brahms Sonatas.
A graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music and Indiana University, Hristova’s mentors included Ruggiero Ricci, Ida Kavafian, and Jaime Laredo. She currently plays a 1655 Nicolò Amati violin, once owned by violinist Louis Krasner.
Reflecting on what the next decade of her career will look like, Hristova says she “had the best launching pad anyone could ask for with YCA to gain experience as a soloist, collaborating with a large number of conductors and orchestras playing music of the past and present.”
“In this next stage of my career with EFP, I’m looking at a longer arc for meaningful projects that I can offer presenters throughout a season, deepening lasting relationships with artistic partners, and building trust with audiences and making connections that bring new works into the repertoire,” she told us. “Ten years seems like a long time, but if the last ten years is any indication the time will go quickly working with so many inspiring artists along the way.”
