Today is VC Artist Igor Pikayzen’s 37th birthday!

A graduate of The Juilliard School and Yale School of Music, Igor is a major prize winner at the Tadeusz Wronski, Kloster-Schontol, Szeryng, Lipizer and Vina Del Mar International Violin Competitions.

Since his concerto debut at the age of 8, with Mozart’s Violin Concerto No.2 and the Ankara Philharmonic, Mr. Pikayzen has appeared as a soloist with major orchestras, spanning Europe, Asia and North America, including the Moscow Philharmonic, Moscow Radio Symphony, Bucharest Philharmonic, Istanbul Philharmonic, Taiwan Chamber Orchestra, Eastern Festival Symphony Orchestra, Filharmonia di Bacau, Czestochowa Philharmonic, Bialystok Philharmonic, Milano Chamber Orchestra, Ridgefield Symphony and many others.

As a soloist and chamber musician Mr. Pikayzen has appeared in the most illustrious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall in New York, Tchaikovsky Hall in Moscow, President’s Hall in Ankara, Royal Conservatory Hall in Brussels, Taipei Concert Hall in Taiwan, Paul Hall at the Juilliard School, Chopin Academy Hall in Warsaw, John C. Borden Auditorium in New York, Sprague Hall in New Haven, Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, and Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center.

He is currently Professor of Violin at the Lamont School of Music at the University of Denver, in addition to being the Artistic Director of Festival Edelio in Westport, CT. Viktor is the gGrandson of the legendary Soviet violinist Viktor Pikayzen.
