VC Artist Marc Bouchkov Joins Folkwang Universität der Künste Faculty
Marc is now on the German music school’s faculty as a violin professor
The Folkwang Universität der Künste in Essen, Germany, has welcomed VC Artist Marc Bouchkov as a violin professor, effective immediately.
Marc joins other violin faculty members including Önder Baloglu, Andrey Baranov, Elisabeth Glaß, Alissa Margulis, Nikolai Mintchev, Aleksey Semenenko, Maria Suwelack.
Currently, he also serves as a professor at Belgium’s Conservatoire Royale de Liège.
Born into a family of violinists, Marc received his first lessons at the age of five from his grandfather. He went on to win gold at the Montreal International Musical Competition and silver at the Tchaikovsky Competition.
A Kronberg Academy graduate, his mentors have included Claire Bernard, Boris Garlitsky, Mihaela Martin, and Eduard Wulfson.
Marc has played solo with the Orchestra Filarmonica della Scala, Munich Philharmonic Orchestra, HR Sinfonieorchester, Mariinsky Theater Symphony Orchestra, Verbier Festival Orchestra, Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra, and many more.
His extensive discography includes live performances of Ysaye sonatas and concertos on Deutsche Grammophon Gold, an all-Mendelssohn album on Berlin Classics, and another of Ysaye’s works on Harmonia Mundi.
