VC Artist Paul Huang Signs Exclusive Recording Contract with Naïve Records
The first recording of the partnership will be dedicated to Saint-Saëns and Respighi
The newest exclusive recording artist with Naïve Records, VC Artist violinist Paul Huang will see his debut album released in the fall of 2023.
"I'm delighted and excited to begin the collaboration with naïve," Paul said. "In this ever-changing world of recording industry, naïve has always shown its integrity and support for artistic excellence and vision. I look forward to many future projects together and trust this will result in meaningful and beautiful recordings."
“We are so happy to start this long-term journey with Paul Huang and accompany him on his recording debut," Aurélia Rippe, head of A&R and production at naïve classique, said. "Paul’s violin voice is definitely one of most authentic and singular of his generation. His art of colours, his impressive virtuosity, his creative and clever approach of the repertoire promise wonderful projects to come. We are very much looking forward to his first album in October and the following ones. Welcome to naïve, Dear Paul!”
A graduate of The Juilliard School, Huang is a former first prize winner at the Tibor Varga International Violin Competition — and was awarded a prestigious 2015 Avery Fisher Career Grant and 2017 Lincoln Center Award for Emerging Artists. He was also the First Prize Winner of the 2011 Young Concert Artists International Auditions.
Huang's recent highlights included a debut at Bravo!Vail Music Festival stepping in for violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter in Mozart’s Violin Concerto No.4 with Chamber Orchestra Vienna-Berlin — in addition to performances with the Detroit Symphony with Leonard Slatkin, Houston Symphony with Andres Orozco-Estrada, Baltimore Symphony and Seoul Philharmonic with Markus Stenz, and recital debuts at the Lucerne Festival in Switzerland and Aspen Music Festival.
He plays on the legendary 1742 “ex-Wieniawski” Guarneri del Gesù on extended loan through the Stradivari Society of Chicago and is on the faculty of Taipei National University of the Arts.
