24 violinists, between the ages of 17 and 29, will compete in this year's competition — with the Semi-Final and Final Rounds to be streamed LIVE here on The Violin Channel from April 6-10

This year's violin competition will take place from April 2 - to April 10, 2022, in Odense, Denmark.

In addition to the violin, clarinet, and flute competitions, the 2022 event will also include Expansiva!, a new in-person program designed to offer participants an off-stage platform to create connections with other musicians and music industry experts - including The Violin Channel's Founder & CEO, Geoffrey John Davies.

In the Final Round of this year’s competition, the same three finalists from the Pre-Final Stage will each perform Carl Nielsen’s Violin Concerto Op. 33 with conductor Daniela Musca and the Odense Symphony Orchestra.

This year's first prize winner of the violin competition will receive €12,000, an Ulf Eriksson and Duncan Duncan Emck violin bow, a CD recording with the Odense Symphony on the Orchid Classics label, plus a number of solo engagements with top Nordic orchestras.

The 2022 violin jury comprises: Noah Bendix-Balgley (Head Juror), Eugene Tichindeleanu, Albena Danialova, Tasmin Little, Judith Van Eeckhout, Mark Williams, and Baiba Skride.

Three candidates have progressed to the Pre-Final and Final Stages of this year’s violin competition. For the Pre-Final Round, each finalist is required to perform a major Romantic or 20th Century Violin Concerto with conductor Nikolaj Szeps-Znaider and the Copenhagen Philharmonic.

Each semi-finalist will now perform a Mozart Violin Concerto with conductor Daniela Musca and the Odense Symphony Orchestra plus a short encore work.
