VC LIVE | 2024 Geneva International Music Competition - Composition Edition

Tune in on October 20 at 11 AM (ET) to witness the compositions by this year's finalists, performed at Geneva's Victoria Hall

We're coming to you LIVE from Geneva, Switzerland, for the final round of the 2024 Geneva International Music Competition - Composition Edition.

First Prize is valued at 15,000 CHF, while Second Prize is 10,000 CHF and Third Prize is 5,000 CHF. Other special prizes this year include the Audience Prize (CHF 1,500), Young Audience Prize (1,000 CHF, awarded by young students of the Geneva music schools), Student Prize (1,000 CHF, awarded by a student in Musicology at Geneva University), and the Nicati De Luze Special Prize (3,000 CHF).

In 2024, the jury comprises of Pascal Dusapin (chair), Milica Djordjević, Francesco Filidei, Hector Parrà, and Francesca Verunelli.

The three composer finalists, along with the names of their pieces, are:

• Léo Albisetti | "Nouvel Elan" for viola and chamber orchestra
• Caio de Azevedo | "Marionnette" for viola and chamber orchestra
• Ryu Sangmin | "The past recaptured" for viola and chamber orchestra

Their works for viola and chamber orchestra will be performed by L'Orchestre de Chambre de Genève at Geneva's Victoria Hall under the baton of Pierre Bleuse, featuring soloists Lise Berthaud, Georgy Kovalev and Adrien La Marca.
