Vermont's Kinhaven Music School to Launch Semester Program
In partnership with Burr and Burton Academy, the school will offer an inaugural fall semester program to 16 high school students
Vermont's Kinhaven Music School, which runs as a summer program, recently announced that it would expand its offerings to include a Semester Program for high school students. Run in partnership with Burr and Burton Academy, the school will become the only music-focused semester school in America.
The program will begin in Fall 2025, with an initial intake of 16 students. These young musicians will continue with their academic work in the mornings, with the credits to be transferred back to the students' home schools. In the afternoons and evenings, students will receive lessons, coachings, masterclasses, and personal practice time at the Kinhaven campus.
There will also be plenty of performance opportunities on the weekends, at locations across Southern Vermont. Students and faculty will appear alongside guest artists.
Applications for the inaugural semester will open on April 1, 2024. Applicants will need to provide a short statement, an audition recording, and a school transcript — with the final round also containing an interview.
