Victoria “BCN” International Violin Competition Names 2025 Winners
Jacob Sun, Yinong Xiao, Austin Webster-Perks, and Patricija Avsic have won first prize in their respective categories
The annual “Victoria BCN” International Violin Competition has recently completed its second edition in Barcelona at the Victoria Music Center Concert Hall.
The 2025 winners in each category are:
Senior (ages 21 to 25):
- 1st: Yinong Xiao | China/UK
- 2nd: Zixuan Shen | China
- 3rd: Langyu Qin | China
Advanced (ages 17 to 20):
- 1st (Ex-aequo): Austin Webster-Perks | Canada/USA
- 1st (Ex-aequo): Patricija Avsic | Slovenia
Junior (ages 12 to 16):
- 1st: Jacob Sun | USA
- 3rd (Ex-aequo): Sura Hasanli | Azerbaijan
- 3rd (Ex-aequo): Yaxin Guan | China
The Jury's Special Prize went to both Aika Oki from the USA and Konrad Gmelin from Germany.
First prize winners in each category will have the opportunity to play in a masterclass with Maxim Vengerov.
Other prizes include solo recitals and solo performances with orchestra, plus several scholarships worth over €6,000. Additionally, all winners were awarded a diploma and a trophy.
For 2025, the jury comprised Viktor Tretyakov (president), Natalia Likhopoi, and Laia Montserrat.
The next edition of the Victoria “BCN” International Violin Competition will be held from April 17–19, 2026, in Barcelona. Applications will close on February 12, 2026. For more information, click here.
