Vienna Philharmonic Announces Appointment of Two New 2nd Violinists
The Vienna Philharmonic has announced the appointment of violinists Liya Yakupova and Julia Gyenge to its 2nd violin section
The Vienna Philharmonic has today announced the appointment of violinists Liya Yakupova and Julia Gyenge to its 2nd violin section - effective from September 2018.
A graduate of the Tchaikovsky Conservatory, Royal Academy of Music and the Cologne University of Music, where she studied with Sergey Kravchenko and Zakhar Bron, Liya has served as a 1st violinist with the WDR Symphony Orchestra Cologne since 2016.
A graduate of the Bela Bartok Conservatory and the Vienna University of Music, where she studied with Natasa Sos and Gerald Schubert, Julia has performed previously with the Vienna Symphony and the Vienna Philharmonic - and has served as a member of the Vienna State Opera since 2015.
Both violinists will serve a standard three-year probation period.
