$70K Viola Stolen in Boston
The Violin Society of America has issued a missing notice on a viola, valued at $70,000 by the owner
Police are searching for a viola that was stolen on August 27, 2023, on a Sunday, between 2 AM and 3:50 PM in the area of Boston’s Glenville Avenue in Brighton, Massachusetts.
According to the authorities, the Chinese-made viola is around 16.5 inches long and was inside a black BAM Black Panther HighTech viola case, which is valued at $1,300.
Additionally, the case has three Boston University stickers and a Vivant Vintage sticker.

“We appreciate all our colleagues keeping an eye out,” the Violin Society of America wrote in the notice.
The viola is valued by its owner at $70,000. No further details about the maker have been provided. The matter is currently being investigated by Detective Louis Relerford of the Boston Police Department.
