Violinist Alena Baeva Joins HarrisonParrott Roster
Baeva will receive worldwide general management
Violinist Alena Baeva has signed with HarrisonParrott for worldwide general management, where she will be represented by Teodora Masi and Elise Jennings.
Hailing originally from Luxembourg, Alena Baeva won the International Henryk Wieniawski Competition when she was just sixteen years old. In recent seasons, she has appeared with Die Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, Göteborgs Symfoniker, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestre National d’Île de France, Orchestre National du Capitôle de Toulouse, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich, and in recital at the Wigmore Hall.
She appears regularly with pianist Vadym Khodolenko, and their album Fantasy — which features works by Schubert, Schumann, Stravinsky, and Messiaen — was released on Alpha Classics earlier in 2024.
Other chamber music partners include Martha Argerich, Yuri Bashmet, Daishin Kashimoto, Misha Maisky, Lawrence Power, Jean-Guihen Queyras, Tabea Zimmermann, and the Belcea Quartet.
Baeva has a broad repertoire that includes over fifty concerti and these cover a wide range of eras — from Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven through to Barber, Shostakovich, and Stravinsky. She also plays a number of lesser-known concerti, such as those by Bacewicz, Karaev, Karłowicz, and Silvestrov.
In 2022, Baeva's recording of the Wieniawski Violin Concerto No. 2 was named the “Recording of the Month” by BBC Music Magazine. Her other recordings have been featured on the Melodiya Records and the Arthaus Musik labels.
Baeva plays on the 1738 “ex-William Kroll” Guarneri del Gesù — on generous loan from an anonymous patron, with the assistance of J & A Beare.
