Violinist Anna Agafia Signs With Nordic Artists Management
Agafia will now be represented by the artist management agency in all Nordic countries
The Danish-Ukrainian violinist Anna Agafia has joined the Denmark-based Nordic Artists Management for representation in all Nordic countries. She joins other artists on the roster including violinists Isabelle Faust and VC Artist Johan Dalene.
Agafia is a laureate of the Singapore International Violin Competition, Carl Nielsen International Competition, Stuttgart International Violin Competition, and Concours International de Violon Tibor Varga, where she won first prize in 2019.
In addition to regular solo engagements with orchestras across Europe, Asia, and America, she appears at renowned chamber music festivals around Europe.
In 2023, she released her debut album on Claves Records, featuring Szymanowski’s Violin Concerto No. 2 and Nielsen’s Violin Concerto performed with the Sinfonia Varsovia and conductor Aleksandar Markovic.
Critically acclaimed, the album was nominated for the ICMA 2023 and named Clef d'Or of the Year by ResMusica.
Agafia plays on “The Sphinx” c.1730-33 Guarneri del Gesú violin on generous loan from an anonymous donor.
“I’m so grateful and excited to begin this new chapter with an amazing management based in my home country,” Agafia wrote on Facebook. Thank you for having faith in me and welcoming me into your family! Looking forward to all that is to come.”
“Very excited to finally announce we have welcomed Anna Agafia to our roster!” NAM posted on Facebook. “[She] has already proven a solid name for herself on the international stage … We look forward to presenting Anna to the Nordic region and we hope you will enjoy her ‘seductive boldness and exciting dramaturgical intelligence’ — in the words of Le Monde!”
