Violinist Clara-Jumi Kang Signs with Intermusica
The South Korean-German violinist will be represented by Bridget Emmerson
London-based management agency Intermusica represents a number of high-profile violinists, including Noah Bendix-Balgley, James Ehnes, and Leonidas Kavakos.
Upon signing, Clara-Jumi Kang will be managed by Bridget Emmerson.
Kang's ability on the violin was recognized early: she made her solo debut with the Hamburg Symphony at just five years old, and two years later was awarded a full scholarship to attend The Juilliard School, where she studied with Dorothy DeLay.
She is the winner of several competitions, including the Indianapolis International Competition and Tokyo's Sendai Violin Competition. In addition, she has appeared as a soloist around the world, with highlights including a BBC Proms debut and performances with the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, Gürzenich Orchestra, and the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.
Kang has also released two recordings on the Decca label: "Modern Solo," which covers a range of virtuosic solo works such as Schubert’s "Erlkönig" and the Ysaÿe Sonatas, and a disc of sonatas by Brahms and Robert Schumann with pianist Yeol-Eum Son.
"We are delighted to announce that the brilliant South Korean violinist Clara-Jumi Kang has joined Intermusica for worldwide management," wrote the agency in a statement.
