Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne Appoints First Solo Violinist
Violinist Clémence de Forceville recently concluded her trial period in the position
French violinist Clémence de Forceville began studying the violin with Radu Blidar at the age of four. She gave her first concerts and began to win international prizes at the age of nine. She eventually entered the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse in Paris, where she studied with Olivier Charlier, and then went on to Germany to complete further study with Antje Weithaas and Mihaela Martin.
She has appeared as soloist with the Baden-Baden Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestra of New Europe, the Südwestphalia Philharmonic Orchestra, the Portugese Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestre de Chambre de Paris, and the Chamber Orchestra of Catalonia.
For three years, de Forceville was first violinist of the Hieronymus String Quartet. She then joined Trio Sōra, with whom she recorded the six Beethoven Trios for a three-disc release on the Naïve label.
"After her trial period, we are very pleased to announce the official appointment of Clémence de Forceville as OCL's 1st solo violinist!" wrote the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne (OCL). "We wish her lots of happiness and great moments in our orchestra."
"So happy to be appointed 1st concertmaster of the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra!" de Forceville wrote. "A huge thank you to all my colleagues for their support and trust, it is a great joy and an honor to join such a wonderful group of musicians."
