SAD NEWS | Longtime Philadelphia Orchestra Violinist & Conductor Luis Biava Has Died [RIP]

South American-born violinist and conductor Luis Biava has passed away

South American-born violinist and conductor Luis Biava Sosa has passed away.

A graduate of Manhattan School of Music and the Santa Cecilia Academy, Mr Biava served as Principal 2nd Violinist and later Assistant Conductor and Conductor-in-Residence with the Philadelphia Orchestra from 1968 until his retirement in 2004.

In addition, he served a long term teaching position on faculty at Temple University's Boyer School of Music.

Our condolences are with Mr Biava's family, friends, colleagues and students.
