The album marks Daniel Lozakovich's debut on Warner Classics
Violinist Daniel Lozakovich's new album, Grieg, Franck, Shor-Pletnev, Shostakovich, was recorded in collaboration with pianist Mikhail Pletnev. The album includes Edvard Grieg's Solveig’s song and Violin Sonata No. 3, Op. 45, César Franck's Sonata for violin and piano in A Major FWV 8, Dmitri Shostakovich's Romance, from “The Gadfly,” and Alexey Shor/Mikhail Pletnev's Violin Sonata in B minor.
"While very much a young player of today, he is an artist whose poetry and integrity place him in the great tradition of the 20th-century violinists who set the benchmarks for the recorded catalog," said President of Warner Classics & Erato Alain Lanceron.
"My main goal in joining this legendary label is to have artistic freedom, create a musical world, and record works of immortal beauty with musicians I love," Lozakovich said. "For me, making music is a spiritual key to unlocking the truth of the soul."
