Violinist Eldbjørg Hemsing signs with Epstein Fox Performances
The Norwegian violinist is the latest in a string of names to sign with the agency, including the Maxwell Quartet, VC Artist Bella Hristova, and Yevgeny Kutik
The Classical Division of Epstein Fox Performances has recently announced the signing of Norwegian violinist Eldbjørg Hemsing. She will be represented by Michael Fox and Brooke Scholl.
Born in Valdres, Norway, Hemsing studied at the Barratt Due Institute of Music in Oslo and with Professor Boris Kuschnir in Vienna. She has recently made major debuts with London's Philharmonia Orchestra and at the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.
In the 2023/24 season, Hemsing appears with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra under Yan Pascal Tortelier and returns to the Trondheim Symfoniorkester, alongside engagements with Den Norske Opera and the Xi'an Symphony Orchestra.
Hemsing is a particular champion of Nordic music, and in the current season, she performs Anders Hillborg's Violin Concerto No. 2 alongside the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra and conductor Esa-Pekka Salonen.
She recorded Rolf Wallin's Whirld Violin Concerto in the previous season with the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra and Andris Poga.
Hemsing released her first album on Sony Classical, Arctic, in February 2023. The disc was nominated for Opus Klassik Awards across five different categories and eventually winning the category "Classic without Limits."
As a chamber musician, Hemsing is a member of the Hemsing-Müller-Schott-Stadtfeld Trio alongside cellist Daniel Müller-Schott and pianist Martin Stadtfeld.
Other artists on Epstein Fox's roster include VC Artist Bella Hristova, Eighth Blackbird, the Harlem Quartet, and PUBLIQuartet.
