Violinist Guido Sant'Anna Receives Rheingau Music Festival Prize
The LOTTO-Förderpreis is valued at €15,000, and has previously been won by Sheku Kanneh-Mason, María Dueñas, and Emmanuel Tjeknavorian
Brazilian violinist Guido Sant'Anna has been named as the recipient of the Rheingau Music Festival's LOTTO -Förderpreis for 2024. The award carries a cash value of €15,000, and is donated by LOTTO Hessen.
Sant'Anna made his debut at the Rheingau Musik Festival in the summer of 2023, when he appeared with the hr-Sinfonierochester Frankfurt and Alain Altinoglu. He will make a return appearance on 27 June 2024 and will play the Tchaikovsky concerto with the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen.
The 2022 winner of the Fritz Kreisler Competition, Guido Sant'Anna was born in 2005 in São Paulo. He has recently appeared in subscription concerts with the São Paulo State Symphony Orchestra, as well as made his debut recording project for the Naxos Records label with them.
In the spring of 2025 Sant'Anna will make his debut at the Elbphilharmonie as part of a European tour with the Neojibá Youth Orchestra, along with soloists Lucas and Arthur Jussen.
Previous recipients of the LOTTO-Förderpreis include Sheku Kanneh-Mason, María Dueñas, Emmanuel Tjeknavorian, and Tarmo Peltokoski.
"Supporting young artists on their way to the top, encouraging them and saying thank you for what they have achieved so far — that is what the LOTTO sponsorship award of the Rheingau Music Festival has stood for since 2009, and is therefore an integral part of LOTTO Hessen's cultural sponsorship," said Martin Blach, a spokesperson for LOTTO Hessen.
