Violinist Hilary Hahn Joins KD SCHMID Artists
Hahn has moved with her agent Naomi Ives from IMG to the Europe-based international agency KD SCHMID
Violinist Hilary Hahn joins her long-time manager Naomi Ives, who has moved from IMG Artists to the KD SCHMID agency. This January, Ives was appointed Director of KD SCHMID, to help further develop the company’s artist management activities, and will be based in their London offices.
At IMG, Ives represented violinists Hahn and Sarah Chang, pianist Jonathan Biss, cellist Jakob Koranyi, and conductors Jessica Cottis, José Luis Gomez, Michail Jurowski, Angus Webster, and Xian Zhang.
Along with Hahn, Jonathan Biss and Jessica Cottis have also followed Ives to KD SCHMID. They join artists including VC Artist Augustin Hadelich, and violinists Arabella Steinbacher and Christian Tetzlaff.
Ives first worked as an assistant at IMG in 2002 before returning to serve as its Executive Vice President, Global Head of Conductors and Instrumentalists — a role she has held for 13 years.
She also served as a sponsorship manager at the Royal Scottish National Orchestra in Scotland and was the Company Manager at the Scottish Opera.
“I am really thrilled to be joining the KD SCHMID team and am honored to have been given the opportunity to help shape the company’s future,” Ives said in a press release. “I am excited to be able to collaborate with such a wonderful team and their exceptionally talented artists. The future looks incredibly bright for KD SCHMID, and I am looking forward to being part of it.”
A three-time GRAMMY Award-winner, Hahn is currently in her third season as the Chicago Symphony Orchestra’s first artist-in-residence and holds the role of Visiting Artist at The Juilliard School.
Among her accolades are Musical America’s 2023 Artist of the Year, the 2021 Herbert von Karajan Award, and most recently, the 2024 Avery Fisher Prize.
