Masterclass.com has this week announced the launch of a new 4-hour 19-lesson online violin masterclass series - hosted by legendary violin virtuoso Itzhak Perlman.

The in-depth series, accompanied by a written workbook, focuses on the fundamentals of violin and bowing technique, sound production and practice strategies.

"Mr Perlman teaches you to strengthen your sound, no matter where you are in your study of violin ... learn fundamental techniques, bow handling, and Mr Perlman’s tips for improving your intonation and vibrato," the educational hub has said.

The course is available at a one time fee of US $90.
