The acclaimed early-music ensemble recently won an ICMA award for their album "Sonate a quattro"
The UK's Percius Management has announced that violinist and conductor Johannes Pramsohler, alongside his group Ensemble Diderot, will join their roster.
Presently Artist in Residence at the Euregio Cultural Centre in Toblach, Italy, and the Centre de Musique Baroque de Versailles, the Ensemble Diderot is supported by the French Ministry of Culture. Its flexible roster can range in size from a trio to a chamber orchestra and chorus with soloists.
In the coming months, the group anticipates completing a tour of Austria and Italy, its debut at the Aldeburgh Summer Festival, performances of trio sonatas at Opera Lille, the Berliner Philharmonie, and Sevilla Spain, as well as concerts at Rouen Opera and a return to the Cologne Philharmonie.
They are led by Johannes Pramsohler, an early-music specialist, violinist, and conductor. Alongside his work with Ensemble Diderot, he leads the award-winning label Audax Records.
As concertmaster, Pramsohler has led Concerto Melante (members and guests of the Berliner Philharmoniker on historical instruments), Le Concert d’Astrée, Concerto Köln, the European Union Baroque Orchestra, the International Baroque Players, the King's Consort, and the Niedersächsische Staatsorchester Hannover.
Pramsohler also holds a PhD from the Royal Academy of Music and speaks five languages.
Other artists on the roster at Percius include Jack Liebeck, Rachel Podger, and Emily Sun.
