American Violinist Joseph Silverstein Was Born On This Day in 1932

American violinist and conductor Joseph Silverstein was born on this day in 1932- 92 years ago.
Mr Silverstein was a former prize winner at the Queen Elisabeth and Walter W Naumburg International Violin Competitions - and performed as Concertmaster of the Boston Symphony Orchestra for 22 years.
From 1983 to 1998 he served as Music Director of the Utah Symphony and held teaching positions at the Curtis Institute of Music and the New England Conservatory - his famed students including VC Artist Nikki Chooi.
Mr Silverstein passed away in November 2015 - aged 82.
