Violinist Karen Gomyo Signs with IMG Artists and Enticott Music Management
Gomyo will join IMG Artists in association with Enticott Music Management for general management
Tokyo-born violinist Karen Gomyo will be represented by Agnieszka Mikus at the New York-based IMG Artists, and by Kathryn Enticott in association with Enticott Music Management in the UK.
Gomyo studied with Dorothy DeLay at the Juilliard School before attending the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and Boston’s New England Conservatory.
Her recent concert engagements included the New York Philharmonic, Pittsburgh Symphony, Orquesta Nacional de España, Czech Philharmonic, and Rome’s Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia.
She has collaborated with Olli Mustonen, Leif Ove Andsnes, Enrico Pace, James Ehnes, Noah Bendix-Balgley, and guitarist Ismo Eskelinen (with whom she released the duo album Carnival on BIS Records), and with conductors such as Gustavo Dudamel, Mikko Franck, Jakub Hrůša, and Cristian Macelaru.
This season, Gomyo will make her debut with the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig and the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland. She will also return to perform with the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra; BBC Philharmonic Orchestra; Orquesta Sinfónica de Bilbao; Vancouver Symphony; and with major Australian state symphony orchestras.
In February 2024, she will give the world premiere of Xi Wang’s Dallas Symphony Orchestra commission, Year 2020: Concerto for Trumpet, Violin and Orchestra with trumpet player Tine Ting Helseth and conductor Fabio Luisi.
“It is an immense pleasure for us to begin our work with Karen Gomyo, a violinist of astonishing musical depth and creativity,” said Mikus and Enticott. “We have been inspired by the countless ideas we have exchanged since our first meeting with Karen. She is a brilliant communicator, both on and off the concert platform and we are so happy to be a part of her professional journey, bringing her vision and ambitions to fruition.”
“I feel extremely grateful to have found an artistic home within this wonderfully enthusiastic, open-minded, forward-thinking, and compassionate team,” Gomyo added. “With their unparalleled leadership and team spirit, combined with their curiosity and understanding of the individual artist’s needs and visions, I couldn’t ask for better partners to embark on this new journey with!”
