Violinist Lilja Haatainen, 14, Signs With HarrisonParrott
The violinist has joined HarrisonParrott’s roster for worldwide general management
Finnish violinist Lilja Haatainen will be represented by Katie Cardell-Oliver at HarrisonParrott, where she joins artists including violinists Alena Baeva, Randall Goosby, and Patricia Kopatchinskaja on the roster.
Born in 2011, Haatainen started violin studies at age three with the Suzuki method and made her solo debut with the Oulu Symphony Orchestra at age eight.
A student of the Finland Violin Academy, she has also studied at the Oulu Conservatory and the Porvoo Institute of Music. Her mentors have included Janne Malmivaara and Elina Vähälä.
Haatainen has played solo with ensembles including the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Lahti Symphony Orchestra, Tapiola Sinfonietta, Finnish Chamber Orchestra, Jyväskylä Sinfonia, Oulu Sinfonia, Espoo City Orchestra, Vaasa City Orchestra, Jena Philharmonic Orchestra, and with conductors such as Nicholas Collon, Dalia Stasevska, Kristian Sallinen, and Rumon Gamba.
In 2022, she won first prize in her category at the Juhani Heinonen Violin Competition in Finland.
Her upcoming projects include featuring as a soloist and chamber music artist at several summer music festivals across Finland. At the invitation of Janine Jansen, she will also appear at the International Chamber Music Festival, Utrecht, next season.
Additionally, she will be making her debuts with the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra led by Manfred Honeck, as well as the Pori Sinfonietta and the Ostrobothnian Chamber Orchestra.
Haatainen’s violin studies are generously supported by the Stretton Society, the Finnish Cultural Foundation, Pro Musica, and the Wihuri Foundation in Finland.
