Violinist Lisa Batiashvili Signs With Impresariat Simmenauer Management
Batiashvili has joined Berlin’s Impresariat Simmenauer agency for general management
Lisa Batiashvili has signed with Berlin’s Impresariat Simmenauer artist agency, joining its roster of violinists including Isabelle Faust, Vadim Gluzman, and Gidon Kremer.
Previously on the roster of HarrisonParrott and the Wiegold & Böhm International for over two decades, Batiashvili will now be represented at Impresariat Simmenauer by Arnold Simmenauer and Eleonore Wrobel.
“We are THRILLED to announce that the wonderful Lisa Batiashvili will be joining the Impresariat Simmenauer family,” the agency posted on Facebook. “We are so looking forward to an inspiring collaboration.”
This season, Batiashvili took up her residency with the Berlin Philharmonic performing with Kirill Petrenko and Daniel Barenboim. The final part of the residency will see her perform solo with the Berlin Philharmonic Academy.
Recently, she performed with the Munich Philharmonic and the San Francisco Symphony, and Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra; in 2022/23, she returned to New York Philharmonic, Cleveland Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra of Europe, London Symphony Orchestra, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, and Vienna Philharmonic.
Among her many awards include the MIDEM Classical Award, Choc de l’année, the Accademia Musicale Chigiana International Prize, Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival’s Leonard Bernstein Award, and the Beethoven-Ring.
She has also been nominated as Gramophone’s Artist of the Year in 2017, and in 2018, was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from the Sibelius Academy. Recently, she was awarded the European Culture Prize for 2024.
In addition to her solo career, Batiashvili served as Artistic Director of Audi Sommerkonzerte Ingolstadt between 2019 and 2022, and currently leads the Lisa Batiashvili Foundation, which she founded in 2021 to support young exceptional Georgian musicians in their musical careers.
Batiashvili resides in Berlin and plays a 1739 Joseph Guarneri “del Gesu” violin — generously loaned by a private collector.
