Violinist Maxim Vengerov Signs With Arabella Arts

Vengerov has signed with the boutique management agency for North American representation, effective immediately

The GRAMMY Award-winning violinist Maxim Vengerov has joined the roster of Arabella Arts management for North American representation. He will be represented by the agency’s co-founders and managing directors Stefana Atlas and Samantha Scully, and associate manager Joshua John

Studying with Galina Tourchaninova and Zakhar Bron, Vengerov began performing solo at the age of five and won the Wieniawski and Carl Flesch international competitions at age 10 and 15, respectively. At age 16, he made his American debut with the New York Philharmonic and conductor Franz Welser-Möst; in 1997, at age 23, Vengerov became the first classical musician to become an International Goodwill Ambassador by UNICEF

He has since worked with the Berlin Philharmonic, Israel Philharmonic, Leipzig Gewandhaus, London Symphony Orchestra, Concertgebouw Orchestra, Wiener Philharmoniker, Orchestra della Scala, and more, plus with conductors including Claudio Abbado, Zubin Mehta, Kurt Masur, Lorin Maazel, Mstislav Rostropovich, Ricardo Chailly, and Carla Maria Giulini.

In America, he has been a regular guest with the  Metropolitan Orchestra, and the Chicago, Boston, and San Francisco Symphonies, plus appeared at the Tanglewood, Ravinia, Hollywood Bowl, Bravo Vail!, and Aspen Festivals.

As a conductor, he was appointed the first chief conductor of the Gstaad Festival Orchestra in 2010, and has since conducted the Munich Philharmonic, BBC Symphony Orchestra, Montreal and Toronto Symphony Orchestras, RTE Dublin, Orchestre National de France, Seoul Philharmonic, and the Tokyo Symphony.

Vengerov’s current season includes giving over 60 concerts in prestigious venues across Europe, North and South America, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. He will begin his 50th Birthday celebrations at Carnegie Hall with a concert series featuring Mozart concertos in November 2024 and concluding with Beethoven sonatas in 2027.

As an educator, he has taught at the Menuhin Academy, Mozarteum University Salzburg, and London’s Royal Academy and College of Music. In 2021, he created his teaching platform and hosts a series of free online tutorials

Among his awards include a GRAMMY Award and nominations, Gramophone awards, Classical Brit Award, Edison Classical Music Awards, ECHO Awards, Victoires de la Musique, and World Economic Forum Crystal Award. He was also named a Chevalier of the Ordre du Mérite Culturel. Vengerov plays the 1727 “ex-Kreutzer” Stradivari, among other instruments.

“I met Maxim many years ago when he performed, toured, and recorded with Kurt Masur, the New York Philharmonic, and the Gewandhaus Orchestra, and am thrilled our paths have recently crossed again,” Atlas wrote on Instagram

“Maxim is one of those incredible musicians composed entirely of talent, passion, know how, sincerity, and depth,” she added. “He continues to touch audiences around the world with his artistry, taking you on an exciting musical journey with each concert. There is no one like Maxim! Both Samantha and I are humbled and honored to be working with such a unique artist and look forward to taking this journey by his side and helping him realize his artistic goals and dreams.”

“It is with great pleasure that I join Stefana Atlas and Samantha Scully and their terrific team at Arabella Arts,” Vengerov said. “I have always been impressed with Stefana’s work—the love, care and devotion for her artists—since I met her at the New York Philharmonic years ago. I am equally inspired by the way Arabella Arts has grown in three short years since its creation. I look forward to this partnership and their support with lots of interesting projects ahead.”

“I am delighted about this collaboration with Stefana and her team, enlarging Maxim’s presence in the US market,” said Vengerov’s general manager, Nicola-Fee Bahl. “We are all very excited!”
