Violinist Nikita Boriso-Glebsky’s New Album “Carnet des voyages”
Released on the Aparté label, Boriso-Glebsky performs with pianist Georgy Tchaidze in an array of short pieces
Violinist Nikita Boriso-Glebsky’s latest album “Carnet des voyages” with pianist Georgy Tchaidze features almost twenty tracks from composers hailing from the 19th to the 20th century.
The album includes Stravinsky’s Petrushka and Divertimento from The Fairy's Kiss ballet: II. Danses suisses; the Spring Dance and Country Dance movements of Frank Bridge’s 4 Short Pieces for Violin and Piano; the second movement of Vieuxtemps’ 3 Romances sans paroles, Op. 7; Dvořák’s Slavonic Dances, Op. 46, No. 2: Dumka; and Bazzini’s rambunctious La ronde des Lutins, Op. 25.
More works are Aulin’s Swedish Dances for Violin and Piano, Op. 30: I. Moderato; Rachmaninoff’s Morceaux de salon, Op. 6 : I. Romance; Sibelius’ Danses champêtres, Op. 106 : I. Largamente assai; Kreisler’s Alt-Wiener Tanzweisen: II. Liebesleid; Beethoven’s Variations on Folksongs, Op. 107: No. 7, Schöne Minka; and Brahms’ Hungarian Dances: No. 17, Andantino.
The final tracks on the album include De Falla’s La vida breve: Spanish Dance; Debussy’s Ariettes oubliées: Il pleure dans mon cœur; Wieniawski’s Polonaise de concert, Op. 4; Mendelssohn’s Lieder ohne Worte, Op. 62: No. 1, Andante espressivo; Ponce’s Estrellita; and Milhaud’s Scaramouche, Op. 165b : III. Brazileira. Select works on the album are also arranged for violin and piano by Jascha Heifetz, Arthur Hartmann, and Fritz Kreisler.

Boriso-Glebsky and Tchaidze are currently on a ten-date tour in China, following their successful concerts in 2023 and 2019.
