The Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester has announced the appointment of German violinist Stefan Zientek as its new Concertmaster
The Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, in Vienna, Austria has this week announced the appointment of 23-year-old German violinist Stefan Zientek as its new Concertmaster – effective in May 2020.
A graduate of the Robert-Schumann-Hochschule Düsseldorf where he studied with Michael Gaiser, Stefan is a current postgraduate student of Friedemann Eichhorn at the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt Weimar.
Founded in 1986 by conductor Claudio Abbado, the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester is a pan-European youth orchestra selected following auditions in more than twenty-five European cities.
Stefan will succeed violinist Raphaëlle Moreau in the leadership role.
