Violinist Viktoria Elisabeth Kaunzner's New Album, "Saiga Antelope"
Released on Solo Musica, the album features all female composers including Kaunzer herself
Violinist and composer Viktoria Elisabeth Kaunzner has released her latest album, Saiga Antelope, on the Solo Musica label.
The recording features four world premiere violin works by female composers, including Claudia Montero, Violeta Dinescu, Elena Kats-Chernin, and Kaunzer.
Performing alongside the Universal Korean Organic Ensemble and her own Viktoria & Virtuosi (UKOREVV), with Juan Pablo Hellín conducting, the album explores vibrant musical landscapes — from tango rhythms and impressionist textures to ancient Asian timbres. The ensemble includes 30 young virtuosos from 15 nations.
The album includes two violin concertos by Violeta Dinescu (titled Roman Fleuve — a dedication to Viktoria) and Claudia Montero's Violin Concerto. Times of Rain & Sun by Elena Kats-Chernin and Viktoria Elisabeth Kaunzner's compositions Saiga Antelope, Silk Road, Jasmine Rice, and Lucid Dreams, complete the album.
