Albion Records has announced the release of English violist Martin Outram's new Album: Viola Fantasia.

Recorded with pianist Julian Rolton and tenor Mark Padre, the disc features Vaughan Williams' Suite and Romance for Viola and Piano, Six Studies in English Folksongs, Fantasia on Greensleeves, Fantasia on Sussex Folk Tunes - and Four Hymns for Tenor, Viola and Piano.

''I first became really immersed in Vaughan Williams’ music when, as a member of the Maggini Quartet, I performed and recorded his quartets ..." Martin has told The Violin Channel.

"His richly coloured and wonderfully diverse viola music sprang from his long friendship with the great Lionel Tertis ... and he played the viola himself, so I hope the listeners will appreciate his strong affinity for the instrument through the beautiful and remarkable music presented here," he has said.
