It has been announced today that long-time Metropolitan Opera Orchestra violist Vincent Lionti has passed away, in New York, due to complications of the Coronavirus - aged just 60.
A graduate of The Juilliard School, Vincent had served as a member of the opera's viola section since 1987.
He had also performed as a member of the Detroit Symphony, Lyric Chamber Players, Renaissance City Chamber Players - and as a founding member of the Ventura String Quartet.
Our condolences are with Vincent's family, friends, colleagues and students.
