The Virginia Symphony Orchestra has announced the appointment of Chilean-born conductor Gonzalo Farias as its new assistant conductor
The Virginia Symphony Orchestra in Virginia, United States, has today announced the appointment of Chilean-born conductor Gonzalo Farias as its new assistant conductor - effective from June of this year.
A graduate of the University of Chile, University of Illinois and the New England Conservatory and current post-graduate student of conductor Marin Alsop at the Peabody Conservatory, Gonzalo is a former 1st prize winner at the Claudio Arrau International Piano Competition - and currently serves a fellowship conducting position with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra.
