Voice Semifinalists Announced at Concours Musical International de Montréal

The Concours musical international de Montréal's (CMIM) 23rd edition is currently underway and has brought together some of the most talented classical singers of the new generation. Tune in to watch the competition LIVE on The Violin Channel.
The 10 semifinalists are:
- Junho Hwang, tenor, South Korea
- Katerina Burton, Soprano, United States
- Chanhee Cho, Bass-baritone, South Korea
- Yewon Han, Soprano, South Korea
- Fleuranne Brockway, Mezzo-soprano, Australia
- Fanny Soyer, Soprano, France
- Ariane Cossette, Soprano, Canada
- Jingjing Xu, Mezzo-soprano, China
- Theodore Platt, Baritone, United Kingdom
- Julia Muzychenko-Greenhalgh, Soprano, Russia
The semifinals will take place on Tuesday, June 3 at 7:30 PM (ET) and Wednesday, June 4 at 7:30 PM (ET). The final round will be on Friday, June 6, at 7:30 PM (ET).
During the Semifinals and Finals, competitors will perform with the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal (OSM), the official orchestra of the Concours musical international de Montréal, led by conductor Patrick Summers.
First Prize includes a cash prize of CAD $30,000, the Joseph-Rouleau Career Development Grant worth $40,000 (in partnership with the Azrieli Foundation), and the Opéra de Montréal Aria Prize of $5,000 with an engagement for a role in an upcoming season of the Opéra de Montréal. Second prize will receive $25,000 and third prize will get $20,000. Multiple special prizes will also be awarded.
The International Jury of Voice 2025 is chaired by Canadian soprano Adrianne Pieczonka. The jury includes Harolyn Blackwell, Iain Burnside, Étienne Dupuis, Anthony Freud, Susan Graham, Roberto Mauro, and Christina Scheppelmann.
