Winners Announced At Pablo Casals International Award for Young Cellists 2020

Founded in 1984, the support of the Foundation throughout its history has become an important network of quality ambassadors of Pablo Casals’ living musical legacy

Xuanhan Xu from China was awarded first prize and will receive €18,000.

A student of Gustav Rivinius at the University of Music Saarland, she is a former top prize winner at the David Popper International Cello Competition.

The AENA Special Prize and 3rd prize were awarded to Petar Pejčić from Serbia and Felix Brunnenkant from Germany.

The 2021 jury comprised Claudio Bohórquez, Gustav Rivinius, Henri Demarquette, Arnau Tomás, and Bernard Meillat.
