Winners Announced at Singapore International Violin Competition
VC Artist Dmytro Udovychenko has won first prize at the 2022 edition
Held at Singapore's Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, this year's Singapore International Violin Competition announced its 2022 winners.
1st Prize - Dmytro Udovychenko
2nd Prize - Anna Agafia Egholm
3rd Prize - Angela Sin Ying Chan
4th Prize - Nathan Meltzer
5th Prize - Tianyou Ma
6th Prize - Yiying Jiang
Multiple special prizes were also awarded:
Goh Soon Tioe Violin and Piano Recital Prize: Anna Agafia Egholm
Audience Prize: I-Hao Cheng
Kris Foundation Best Performer of Commissioned Work Prize: Angela Sin Ying Chan
Best Performance of Bach: Tianyou Ma
Best Performance of Ysaye: Angela Sin Ying Chan
This year's jury comprises Qian Zhou (Chair), Martin Beaver, Martin T:son Engstroem, Lee Kyung Sun, Mihaela Martin, Joel Smirnoff, and Tsu Vera Weiling.
On December 14, the three violinists Dmytro, Anna, and Angela performed concertos with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra conducted by Joshua Kangming Tan.
Over USD $110,000 in prizes will be awarded, along with multiple concert engagements. Dmytro Udovychenko receives USD 50,000, Anna Agafia Egholm gets USD 25,000, and Angela Sin Ying Chan was given USD 15,000.
Additionally, the top six winners will be given a 3-year fine violin loan from the Rin Collection. The instruments include:

A student of Boris Garlitsky at the Folkwang University of the Arts, VC Artist Dmytro Udovychenko is a former major prize winner of the Jascha Heifetz and Andrea Postacchini International Violin Competitions — and was awarded a coveted 2nd prize at the 2018 Joseph Joachim International Violin Competitions, in Hannover, and 3rd prize at this year's Sibelius Competition.
Dmytro has performed with major orchestras such as the Brandenburger Symphoniker, Slovak Sinfonietta, Sønderiyllands Symphoniker (Denmark), NDR Radiophilarmonie, Moscow Virtuosos Orchestra conducted by Volodymyr Spivakov (Moscow), National Philharmonic Orchestra of Ukraine (Kyiv), Youth Symphonic Orchestra (Kharkiv), Luhansk Philharmonic Orchestra, and Odessa Philharmonic Orchestra.
