This, the fifith in the newly-launched ‘With Nicky’ series, violin virtuoso Nicola Benedetti talks us through all things equipment ... strings, shoulder rests, chin rests, bows, pegs ... and the violin itself.

"This week, I’m talking all things equipment ... we’ll also be looking inside my violin case … I’m not going to lie, it’s pretty messy ... " the Scottish-born soloist has said.

"Equipment is something that I have certainly obsessed over a lot in the past ... I have also come to realise that at some point, you just have to let it all go and focus as much as possible on your physical and mental well-being in your practice," she has said.
