YCAT to Partner with Cellist Chris Howlett
The project aims to create performance opportunities for YCAT artists in China and the Far East
The London-based Young Classical Artists Trust (YCAT) has recently announced a partnership with the Australian cellist Chris Howlett, with the goal of creating performance opportunities in China and the Far East for the artists on YCAT's roster.
Howlett is particularly familiar with this area: as the founder and Executive Producer of Australian International Productions, he presents more than 150 concerts in China each year. Howlett already has an established relationship with YCAT through his position as Artistic Director of the Bendigo Chamber Music Festival.
Both Howlett and YCAT anticipate that performance opportunities in China will be highly beneficial to YCAT's artists, as well as promoting and strengthening musical connections across the world.
"YCAT is a very special arts organization providing vital support and opportunities for the next generation of artistic leaders," Howlett said. "It has been incredible to see these artists flourish under Alasdair and the team’s guidance and their performances at our festivals in Australia are always a highlight. China and the Far East is without doubt one of the fastest growing markets in our industry and I am thrilled to be able to give the artists the opportunity to showcase their talents in mainland China and beyond."
"Working with Chris, over the years, he has always provided YCAT artists with some of their most rewarding and stimulating performing experiences," said Alasdair Tate, the CEO and Artistic Director of YCAT. "His connections in China and the Far East will, without doubt, prove invaluable in bringing YCAT artists to an even wider reach of audiences and touring opportunities, essential as they develop as international performers."
