A student of Louis Persinger, Georges Enescu, and Adolf Busch, he is remembered as one of the greatest violinists and humanitarians of the 20th Century
Lord Yehudi Menuhin was born on this day in 1916.
Together with Robert Masters, Menuhin founded the Yehudi Menuhin International Competition for Young Violinists in 1983 — one of the world's leading competitions for young musicians.
He passed away in 1999 at aged 82.
