Young Classical Artists Trust Announces 2023 Finalists
Six finalists will perform at the Public Final Auditions, to be held at Wigmore Hall on June 2, 2023
Young Classical Artists Trust (YCAT) is a UK-based trust that supports musicians in the transition from tertiary study into full-time work. They partnered with New York's Concert Artists Guild so their artists could receive significant performance opportunities on both sides of the Atlantic.
The YCAT auditions offer one of the most significant development opportunities for young musicians anywhere in the world. This year's winners will receive 3-5 years of management, international concert engagements, consultation to support their web presence, marketing, and promotion, professional photoshoots, and live recordings of recitals at London's Wigmore Hall.
Following an exhaustive selection process from a pool of over 120 exceptionally talented musicians, six artists have emerged as outstanding, creative performers poised to make their mark in the world of classical music.
The finalists include:
- Ignas Maknickas (piano)
- Hana Chang (violin)
- Quartet Atenea (string quartet)
- Charlotte Spruit (violin)
- Will Duerden (double bass)
- Trio Chagall (piano trio)
The six finalists will perform at the Public Final Auditions, to be held at the iconic Wigmore Hall on June 2, 2023. Those selected at the finals will be welcomed into YCAT's family of internationally managed artists.
“This year’s auditions have already been truly inspiring and probably one of the most difficult years ever for the many juries to whittle down the selection to this small group of exceptional musicians," said Alasdair Tait, Chief Executive & Artistic Director. "We can’t wait to experience them all in live performance at the Wigmore in June!”
