New York's Metropolitan Opera Announce New Concertmaster

The Metropolitan Opera has announced the appointment of American-Canadian violinist Benjamin Bowman as their new Concertmaster

The Metropolitan Opera, in New York has today announced the appointment of 38 year old American-Canadian violinist Benjamin Bowman as their new Concertmaster.

A graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music, where he studied with Aaron Rosand, Benjamin currently serves as Concertmaster of the American Ballet Theatre.

He will share the duties at the Metropolitan Opera with violinist David Chan - who has held the seat since 2000.

Benjamin will hold an initial one year contract - as previously served by VC Artist Nikki Chooi.
