2014 London Proms Lineup Announced – Including Jansen, Ehnes, Bell & Fischer
The programme for the 2014 BBC Proms Festival, at London's Royal Albert Hall has today been announced – and will include concerto performances by violinists Janine Jansen, James Ehnes, Joshua Bell, Julia Fischer, Isabelle Faust, Tasmin Little and Daniel Hope.
Janine Jansen will perform Chausson's 'Poeme' and Ravel's 'Tzigane', with conductor Saraki Orama and the BBC Symphony Orchestra, at the festival's 'Last Night of the Proms' on September 13th - and in addition will perform Vaughan William's 'The Lark Ascending' on August 13th.
James Ehnes will perform Walton's Violin Concerto, with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales - with conductor Thomas Søndergård on August 22nd.
Joshua Bell will perform Bruch's Violin Concerto No. 1 - with The Academy of St Martin in the Fields on August 10th.
Julia Fischer will perform Dvorak's Violin Concerto - with the Tonhalle Orchestra, under David Zinman on July 21st.
Isabelle Faust will perform Bartok's 2nd Violin Concerto - with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Juri Belohlavek on July 23rd.
Tamin Little will perform's Moeran's Violin Concerto - with the BBC Philharmonic, under Juanjo Mena on July 25th.
And, Daniel Hope will premiere a new concerto by Gabriel Prokofiev with the Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra on July 29th.
