American Composer William Pursell Dies at 94 [RIP]

Two–time Grammy–nominated composer William Pursell has passed away from COVID-19 at age 94


Born in Oakland, California, William Pursell graduated from the Peabody Conservatory and Rochester University's Eastman School Music. He taught composition on faculty at Vanderbilt University, Belmont University, and Tennessee State University, and was a recording session pianist.

He is best known for his Billboard–hit song, “Our Winter Love.”

"Our hearts are shattered, our lives changed forever. Please send prayers for strength to my family… We know how many lives he touched, and he knew how much he was loved," daughter Laura Pursell said.
