Applications will close on January 31st for the 2018 Paulo International Cello Competition – to be held from October 14th-25th, 2018 in Helsinki, Finland.

Open to cellists of any nationalities born between 1988 and 2002, the 1st prize winner will receive €20.000.

The 2018 jury will comprise: Arto Noras, Frans Helmerson, Maria Kliegel, Laurence Lesser, Ivan Monighetti, Philippe Muller, Li-Wei Qin, Martti Rousi and Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi.

Former major prize winners include Nicolas Altstaedt, Xavier Phillips, Hai-Ye Ni, Enrico Bronzi, Andreas Brantelid - and VC Artists Kian Soltani, Pablo Ferrández and Aurélien Pascal.
