Applications Open for 2022 Azrieli Music Prizes
Established in 2014, the competition is comprised of three categories, The Azrieli Prize for Jewish Music, The Azrieli Commission for Jewish Music, and The Azrieli Commission for Canadian Music
Applications are now open for the 2022 Azrieli Music Prizes (AMP).
The 2022 competition focuses on music for symphony orchestra with up to two soloists.
The prize for each of the three categories includes $50,000 CAD, an AMP Gala performance of the work with conductor Yannick Nézet-Séguin and L'Orchestre Métropolitain, and a recording on the Analekta label.
Applications for The Azrieli Commission for Jewish Music and The Azrieli Commission for Canadian Music are due by May 2, 2021. Applications for The Azrieli Prize for Jewish Music are due by August 1, 2021.
The Azrieli Jewish Music Prizes jury will comprise Boris Brott, Brian Current, Neil W. Levin, Steven Mercurio, and Betty Olivero.
The Azrieli Canadian Prize jury will comprise Barbara Croall, Mary Ingraham, David Pay, Ana Sokolović, and Andrew Staniland.
