The Sydney Conservatorium of Music (SCM), in the heart of Sydney’s cultural precinct, is one of the oldest and most prestigious music schools in Australia.

The SCM is looking for a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Violin, a full-time position with the opportunity to be involved in both teaching and research. The successful applicant will have a DMA, PhD, or equivalent qualification, plus the ability to guide students toward the highest levels of artistic achievement.

The key responsibilities of the role include:
- Plan, foster and develop the training of violinists at the University and develop performance curriculum in close cooperation with faculty members within the University
- Contribute importantly to professional practice and/or research outcomes in the area of violin performance
- Contribute to teaching and training in chamber music, orchestra studies and string pedagogy
- Build an inspiring learning and working environment for the students and teachers of violin performance
- Inspire young students including pre-tertiary music students, community teachers and orchestras and develop violin teaching in community and outreach programs
- Contribute to the development of international student recruitment.
There will be three components of the selection process: a 20-minute master class, a 20-minute lecture recital, and a 40-minute interview. The audience with consist of the Selection Committee, students, and staff members.
