VC Artist Augustin Hadelich Awarded Musical America’s ‘Instrumentalist of the Year’
VC Artist Augustin Hadelich has been honoured as Musical America's coveted 2017 ‘Instrumentalist of the Year’ accolade
It has been announced today that Italian-German violin virtuoso, VC Artist Augustin Hadelich has been honoured as Musical America's coveted 2017 ‘Instrumentalist of the Year’.
"I feel incredibly happy and honoured to be chosen as Instrumentalist of the Year by Musical America ... Thank you so much," Augustin has told The Violin Channel.
"My hearty congratulations to this year's other recipients also ... it's an honour to be included alongside these fine artists," he has said.
The ‘Artist of the Year’ accolade has been presented to Latvian conductor Andris Nelsons.
The ‘Composer of the Year’ accolade has been presented to American composer, music technologist and DJ, Mason Bates.
The ‘Vocalist of the Year’ accolade has been presented to American-Canadian soprano, Sondra Radvanovsky.
A graduate of the Istituto Mascagni and the Juilliard School, Augustin is a former 1st prize winner at the Indianapolis International Violin Competition and recipient of the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant and Borletti-Buitoni Trust Fellowship - and today performs and records regularly with many of the world's foremost conductors and orchestras.
Founded in 1889, Musical America is America’s oldest classical music publication.
The Musical America Awards will be presented in a special ceremony at Carnegie Hall on December 6th.
